ESOL International Qualifications

These Qualifications are designed for those who wish to achieve a high quality, internationally recognised qualification in English that is available and recognised worldwide. They are suitable for Candidates who are preparing for entry to higher education or professional employment. Qualifications are available at each level as either 2-mode Speaking & Listening only, or as 4-mode (Speaking and Listening, Reading and Writing) qualifications.

Description

The overall objective is to provide a Candidate with a qualification that they can use to prepare for higher education or employment where the ability to speak, write and understand verbal and written English is required.

Depending on which qualification is taken by a Candidate, the qualification will assess the Candidate’s competency in either:

All four skills - speaking, listening, reading and writing:

Classic A1 – Entry Level 1 (150 hrs)
Classic A2 – Entry Level 2 (150 hrs)
Classic B1 – Entry Level 3 (240 hrs)

Or in two of those skills: speaking and listening:

Classic A1 – Entry Level 1 (Speaking and Listening) (75 hrs)
Classic A2 – Entry Level 2 (Speaking and Listening) (75 hrs)
Classic B1 – Entry Level 3 (Speaking and Listening) (120 hrs)

 

These qualifications are available in the English language only.

Target Audience

Suitable for learners who are:
- preparing for entry to higher education or professional employment.;
- those who need English for their everyday or working life;
- those who require an externally recognised certificate evidencing their level of proficiency in English;
- or those who are attending courses over a period of time and require a series of graded examinations which provide steps towards proficiency;

All assessment tasks use familiar and routine contexts your learners will be familiar with.
